Our firm is a boutique public accounting practice in the heart of the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland and this year we are celebrating 70 years in business.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior External Auditor to join our team. We work with clients across a wide range of industries, including but not limited to:

  • Education sector
  • Not-for-profits
  • Licensed clubs
  • Legal and real estate service providers
  • Private goods and services providers

Your Responsibilities

  • Working to audit objectives alongside fellow colleagues to complete an effective audit process.
  • Identifying and reporting on client financial risks with regard to external financial reporting requirements.
  • Executing and delivering on a variety of external audit client engagements in an effective and methodical manner.
  • Assisting with the preparation of high-quality audit reports including; related documentation and draft statutory financial statements.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members on each project engagement team to continually develop the team’s skills and experience.
  • Building successful client relationships and the agility to multitask effectively across completing priorities.
  • Be honest and reliable with a positive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Show integrity and strong problem solving abilities.
  • Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Requires careful time management and strong client relations in order to meet strict reporting deadlines.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous audit experience as an External Senior Auditor
  • CA or CPA qualified or studies currently being undertaken to obtain same
  • Strong oral and written communication skills enabling you to deal directly and effectively with staff, clients and stakeholders.
  • Eager to learn and develop skills to further your career.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills to provide effective solutions for our clients and prevent risk.
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS and Australian Auditing Standards including – Corporations Act, Motor Vehicle Dealers & Real Estate Act, Associations Incorporations Act (Qld) and Trust Accounts Act.
  • Experience with audit software products (Myworkspace) and accounting software products – Xero, MYOB, TASS
  • Current driver’s licence and transport.
